Call for Papers

This is the final conference of the research group SyNoDe (Systems of nominal determination in contact, Link) of the University Research Priority Program Language and Space at the University of Zurich. The aim of the conference is to create a space for scientific exchange between researchers from this group and other researchers with similar interests.

We called for proposals for talks and posters on topics related to nominal determination, focusing on, but not restricted to, 1) Number Marking; 2) Partitivity; 3) Differential Object Marking; 4) Possessives; 5) Agreement; and 6) Syntax and semantics of deictic categories. Works on both European and non-European languages (standard and non-standard) are welcome, with a synchronic, a diachronic, or a contact perspective. Particular interest lies in the investigation of the spread of linguistic features across geographical areas and the spatial distribution of speakers.

Talks will be 20 minutes long, followed by 10 minutes of discussion. Submissions are limited to 1 single-authored and 1 co-authored abstract per participant, or 2 co-authored abstracts per participant.

The submission is closed.
