Christian joined the URPP Language and Space in October 2018. He is postdoctoral researcher in the SNSF funded project Non-randomness in Morphological Diversity: A Computational Approach Based on Multilingual Corpora. This involves building and analyzing a text collection for 100 typologically diverse languages. His research interests include the application of information-theoretic principles to natural languages, as well as developing quantitative methods to explain language change and diversity. His broad research areas include quantitative linguistics, corpus linguistics, linguistic typology, and language evolution.
